Nani Lotus

We started doing the krafty thing back in 2006, under a pseudonym called Uisce Creations. Uisce means water in Gaelic (uisce beatha = water of life), and as we're both water signs & a wee bit Irish, we thought it was fitting. But one thing lead to another which lead to another which lead to us changing our name and starting anew with something that reflected where we are now more so than where we were, if that makes sense. We were thinking 'amrita lotus', which, oddly enough, 'amrita' means nectar of life in Sanskrit (and Rita is the name of my mother's mom), but then decided to go the Hawaiian route instead, as Mom & I are both heavily drawn to the islands. 'Nani' means beauty or beautiful in Hawaiian (and maternal Grandmother in Hindi!) and thus we are... Beautiful Lotus.
Why a lotus? Expect that answer soon!
Initially this was supposed to be a family/friend joint venture, but family & friends never got involved enough to let us sell their stuff! We're still waiting, guys...
I am Allison, the daughter, and I am the one in charge of the website and most of the businessy stuff. I kraft soap, knitted goods - the odds and ins. Mom krafts jewelry.
And Mom - well - her name is Susan. :)
